We know we are doing something right when we get feedback from our readers. This afternoon we sent out an invite to our readers to learn more about how we’re helping the WHOLE family, not only just IEP issues.
We made it very clear that we do not feel that the IEP document is the only answer to your child’s education and life success.
We know that there is much more to life than IEP issues. There are concerns of siblings, finances, health and much more.
Ignoring these pieces of a family and planning IEP goals with blinders on would be irresponsible!
We have a team of over 100 families working together on improving their child’s education, their whole family health and many are also improving their finances by working at home with us.
This makes some people MAD!
They would rather live in a world of fighting IEP goals, spending all your energy on negotiating an extra 30 minutes of speech therapy and hoping that everything turns out o.k. at age 22.
Reality will hit these “advocates” someday. They will realize that being a support to the whole family and offering solutions and ideas to meet the needs of the whole family is a great way to experience success.
We’re proud of the parents we work with who are earning more by helping other families and working on our team. We’re simply creating more advocates, more healthy families and more educated children with disabilities while acknowledging the big picture and dreaming big!
Have questions about what we’re doing? Have an opinion? Feel free to share!
Pssst…do you want to know who was the most mad of all? Other advocates who read our newsletter and are advocating for you in “old school” fashion! They are appalled that I would combine helping families with IEP issues with help in other areas of their lives. Hey! IEPs are supposed to be about preparing for a great life!
